As the Creator and Author of the blog Post Internet, I coined the term “post internet art” and analyzed individual works of net art (along with occasional longer thematic texts) through daily postings.

_

Strategic Case Study:

Problem:
The market for image-heavy blogs focused on internet art was glutted in 2009. How to stand out and bring a fresh voice?

Solution:
I took a big swing by going extremely minimal with the design and not including images, basically the opposite of most other art blogs being produced during that time. I also looked in microscopic depth at works of art, going through step-by-step interpretations, rather than focusing on surface-level aesthetics.

Result
Post Internet was awarded a Creative Capital / Andy Warhol Foundation grant and quickly became a daily must-read among artists and other writers interested in net art. It went on to be translated into multiple languages, be published as a book by Link Editions, and be regularly excerpted in net art anthologies. The blog was recently preserved by Rhizome at the New Museum’s Net Art Anthology Project.
